"Comedero Bass"
Lago Comedero is not so well-known as some other bass lakes in Mexico, but the angling here is second to none. The lake lies in the foothills of the famous Sierra Madre, and against this dramatic backdrop Shaw gives the viewer a one-on-one seminar on fishing for big bass. He covers top-water with buzzbaits, and underwater with big plastic lizards in flooded brush.
"Falcon Lake Bass"
Shaw fishes Falcon Lake, Texas, with Debra Hengst, a top contender on the new Women's Bassmaster Tour. This reservoir on the Rio Grande laps over into Mexico and is loaded with fat largemouths, but finding them can be tough in the extensive rocky and weedy structure. Falcon is Debra's home water, and with her on the hunt the bass have nowhere to hide.
"Saranac Bass"
The Saranac chain of lakes in northern New York is some of the most scenic bass water in the nation. Both species of bass are numerous, largemouths and smallmouths, and offer exciting angling in clear water. Five years ago Shaw and Gary Klein took top honors in the bass-angling event in the Outdoor Games held here, and this is their first return visit to Saranac.
"Delta Trout"
Shaw sets out with Capt. Mike Frenette for seatrout in the Mississippi Delta and the waters around the oil platforms nearby. They catch plenty of trout but also bag some bigger game along the way. Several hefty redfish outrace trout to the lure, and a big cobia puts Shaw's trout tackle to the test. All this and a violent summer storm on the water, complete with waterspout.
